39 Weeks & Having a Baby!

Well, looks like this is my last pregnancy post!

Progress:  I have had days of cramping and waves of nausea and we ended up in the hospital Saturday night. I had consistent contractions, but of course they turned out to be false labor. Because of Remy's low heart rate they kept us overnight for monitoring. I was still having contractions but was checked 3 times and still had no change in my cervix. After being poked 4 times before they could isert my IV, then having more pokes for blood draws, being laid up in that uncomfortable bed for 8 hours and not being able to eat I was so happy to be sent home! I am really hating the puffiness from the IV and the nasty bruise it left me, plus my contractions stopped after I left the hospital.

They ordered yet another ultrasound as they wanted to see where the cord was. She is basically laying on it which causes her heartrate to dip. My doctor was in the hospital sunday morning and was able to check on me, she said that if at my appointment this week I had progressed past 1cm 0% effacement that she would be scheduling an induction for this thursday. When I went in yesterday I was very pleasantly surprised to learn that I'm almost at 2cm and probably 40%effaced, so tomorrow I will be induced! I cant believe I am going to meet my little baby girl by the weekend!

Weight Gain: 1 pound.
Exercise: I have continued to be active, which is what has led to baby Remy's low baseline heartrate (my resting heartrate is lower due to being active therefore her 'low' heartrate is actually normal for her). I am really thankful that I was able to keep up my workouts, no matter how un-intense they may have been at the end, because it really helped me keep it together, not gain a ton of weight and Im sure will aid in my recovery period. Between monday and tuesday of this week I walked 10 miles, bounced on my ball for about 2.5 hours and climbed the stiars for 30 minutes. I truly think this helped in my progress, and I plan to walk another 5 miles or so today to see if I can help it along more before the morning.
Food: All that I wanted for at least a week was a DD Blueberry muffin. This is not something I would ever get on a weekday, or ever eat the entire thing, but thought I should indulge while I still have the 'pregnant' excuse (although I know that the cravings and hunger will only be worse while nursing). I was a happy girl after this breakfast! Also, love the pink/black straw....it's little things like that make me happy!

So, my family is ready to head up, Remy is ready to come out and I just couldn't be happier! I am working my final day and going to eat a yummy dinner since I won't eat again until she is born. It is very surreal to think that tomorrow I will probably be holding this tiny little girl that has grown inside of me for the past 39 weeks. I just cant wait to give her a big kiss!!
