Baby Weight - Update

About a month ago I had noticed that I hit a stopping point in my weight loss. I had lost all of my baby weight plus about 2 pounds, but nothing more was happening. I reached out for some advice from a friend and I was able to get the ball rolling again.

I am now down 6 pounds from my pre-pregnancy weight. Of course, things aren't looking exactly like they used to, but even my old pants are getting big and I have minimized the stomach flab. I stopped eating much after dinner, started tracking my calories again and tried to cut down on my sweets. I would be lying if I said that nursing didn't have anything to do with it, but I refuse to see that as the main reason for my weightloss. I have really put effort into it and am pretty proud of myself. It was extremely hard to get motivated again but I pushed through and here I am!

Obviously it is hard to be in the exact shape that you were before you had a baby. For me, right before I got pregnant there was my wedding and I was in pretty good shape - I took a lot of strength classes and worked out 4 or sometimes 5 days a week. Now that I have a baby, work and what seems like endless house chores, it is kind of hard to find the time to get a good workout in. I would love to join the Y since it has free child care, but it's so expensive that really it's just not in our budget. So, I do have a gym at work to use and I am working out about 3 times a week. I only get about 30-40 minutes of cardio in and then sometimes I'm able to add in weights or strength moves - since I do it on my 'lunch' I really cant take that long to workout since I have to shower and do my hair also.

 Pre-Remy

5 Months Post Pregnancy (I realize Rem is covering most of my body.... but you get the idea :))

BUT I must say that I'm happy with where I am now. I am coming to terms with the fact that I probably wont have the muscle tone that I did a year ago; not anytime soon anyway. I am doing my best and making things work without taking time away from my daughter. I am slowly working towards a goal and really am ok with where I am at. I am hoping ot lose a few more pounds - although I know that maintaining is more of a goal with the holidays approaching.

  1. How long did it take you to lose the baby weight?
