Weekend Happenings

This past weekend was nothing short of gorgeous. The temps were around 80, the skies were sunny and it felt amazing to feel the rays beating down on you. I stayed in Orlando until Saturday and went out with my sisters on Friday night for dinner and drinks to Wildside in Thorton Park. I had never eaten there before, but it's a barbeque flair place that sits on the corner of two brick roads dowtown. The food was good and I would definitely recommend the barbeque chicken quesadilla. We also had a pitcher of peach sangria and watched lots of dog passerbys and also watched Meaghy get a little tipsy. It is always fun when she lets loose!

On Saturday morning my sister, mom and I headed out for wedding dress shopping. We stopped by three different places, and at the last one Erin discovered my dress. It is perfect, and I knew it was mine from the second I looked in the mirror. It only makes everything so much more real and I cannot wait to wear it! Surprisingly, the hardest thing is finding the perfect pair of shoes to wear. We are getting married on a beach, but on the part that is firm and grassy. I dont want a heel to get stuck as I'm strutting my stuff down the aisle, but I dont want to be a short frump who wears flats either! Wedge is ideal, but take a look on google and you will see how difficult it is to find a wedge for a wedding. I will just have to venture out one day in early march and try some things on and take my pick, it's not like many people will see the shoes anyway, and they will come off at the beach part of the reception anyway.

After we took a stroll around the mall for potential bridesmaids dresses, I headed off to Gainesville to see Adam. I was greeted with a cocktail and dinner, and it was really nice to be able to sit around and relax together. Since I'll be moving there, I decided to slowly bring over what I could, so I got all of my recently purchased Christmas items and took them over and we put them in the attic. We also planted some tomato, pepper and strawberry plants. I am really hoping that they come in nicely this spring and we get some good picks. We were supposed to register, but decided to do that in Orlando this coming weekend.

The oven is still broke, so I didn't get around to baking anything, although I really do feel like whipping up a dinner or dessert! Maybe this coming weekend I will do something special. Today it's back to the grind of work and workouts, and wedding things! I am going to print out the invitations and get those out as soon as I can and test out the water bottle labels. We ate sushi last night, so I am over my allowance of sodium and carbs and need to sweat out the salt at the gym today! I hope that everyone had a great weekend, and also a happy monday. I can't believe it's practically Tuesay already!

  1. I am so jealous of your 80 degree weather! We finally had a day in the 50's and ALL the snow melted. Few days later ALL the snow came back! so annoying.

Anywho, I can't believe you found your dress already! That's amazing! What kind of style are you thinking of for the bridesmaid dresses?

  2. Christina, my sisters are my bridesmaids and I am pretty much giving them free range! My color scheme is ivory/champagne/white, so as long as they stick to that they can pick any style and dress. I want them to be able to wear it again and not spend a fortune! Hopefully when the summer things come out they will be able to find something :)

Im sorry about the snow! It is march, springtime and nice weather, not snowy :(
