Summer Fun

I am constantly thinking about how crazy it is that it is the end of July, almost the end of summer. I feel like it has been a pretty uneventful one, but also one of the most fun and relaxing! I happen to have a lot of fun things planned for the month of August. Not to mention that I'll be turning 26 on the 24th. I will be at the end of my mid-20's and am proud of some of the things I have been able to accomplish before then. I will have my large credit card bill officially paid off in a week, I will be obtaining my AA degree next week also (mixed feeling as I wish it was an actual bachelors, but this took me a long ways to get to so I am happy about it), and I have managed to drop 6 pounds in the past few months. It has been almost two years since I began to exercise regularly, and I have been able to consistently keep off the original 7 that I lost. I think that I have even convinced Adam to do the UCF 5 mile run with me this year, and hopefully Erin will join also. I would really like to see if I have improved my time at all.

In a week Adam and I are headed up to Connecticut to visit his cousins, mom, sisters and daughter. It will be nice to have a whole 5 days off in someplace other than Florida, and a break from the heat will be an added bonus! We head to Tampa for a weekend of beach and baseball at the end of the month, with birthday and fantasy football draft in between. I will be a nice way to close out the summer, as I won't be taking any more time off until November.

We are trying to save up more money now and be aware of what we are spending, so I am hoping to cook more when we are together in Gainesville and am missing the times when we were together all week. I am trying to keep an eye out for new recipes and cannot wait to make soups and crockpot some cold weather foods. I hope to be goin through my google reader and blogging some new foods soon!
